Oh and Question 7 indeed refers to D&D, although I preferred the White Box edition (long before the Red Box) with its K.I.S.S. ideals!
Now THAT is old-school. Nice call.
Didn't it actually come in a brown box but the instruction manual was ia white cover white?

You didn't quite get the point of the quiz did you? The fact that you know what the questions are asking puts you beyond Casual Gamer status, not the actual answers
Yes, I did get the point of the quiz. IMax spelled it out in his posting. Wind Lane changed the focus of the conversation, however, with his post that did deal with the answers. I posted an additional list of attempted answers to show that not all gamers are the same.
Oh, I see. You mean you don't necessarily bathe every Sunday ...
I think my wife would have something to say about that...

Not that I remember (I no longer have it due to a house fire - to the foundation - back in '86). It was a white box containing 3 mimeographed (pre-photocopier days) pamphlets of 8 1/2 x 11 paper folded and stapled. So, yeah, it did indeed have a white cover!

Sorry for the late update - I've been knocked down by the flu and spent the day in bed. Anyway, now you can read about Battlelore, Richard Borg, and Andy Griffith.

I wasn't going to repost that link, since I posted that exact same link directly under the last post where he asked the same exact question. So thanks, Brickmann.
Zanter, if you ask that question again, I'm going to reach through the Internet and slap you silly.

Whoops! Very sorry!
On a matter that doesn't make me look like a forgetful jerk, how modular are the boards for battlelore and C&C?
And have you tried the lord of the rings (trilogy edition) risk? I don't know how easily it can be found, but it is awesome, the mechanics fit the themes and blend in quite well.

No worries.
There's only one board for Battlelore, but there are a bunch of hexes with terrain on them so you can set up whatever battlefield you want. Expansions have more terrain types, too.
I haven't tried LOTR Risk. I've heard it's pretty good, but I'm afraid I've come down with a bad case of Lord of the Rings overload, and try not to play Tolkien-themed games any more.

i got i but it is a shame that for real playing you need the expansion.
the figures are4 player friendly all units look different and the expansion, add new units card and the big south part to the game ink a back board were players can play the last city battel.
it look like battlelore. the only big minus is the map ways sauron land seems like australia nobody comes from behind(but...
). fast are the ship ways.
but a must have edition, even for ring fans.

LOTR Risk is pretty solid as far as Risk games go, plus there are lots of varients to try that help with some of the reinforcement and end-gmae issues. The fact that the game uses the one ring as a timer is quite a nice touch.

I might look for that. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the review, or anything, so in the meantime, you can read about Coverup from Out of the Box Games.

Hmm. Sounds like a somewhat cheaper version of Connect Four Stackers. Obviously, there are some differences (covering up), but same basic premise, it would seem.

Yeah, it's about the same thing. $20 and you've got yourself a good time-killer abstract. My kids love it. I would highly recommend it for educators looking for something to occupy their kids, or churches who have youth groups.

I reviewed a little indie video game called Smuggler 3 this time, because it was fun.

So, would you say it's overall better than Privateer?

It's split for me. Half the game kicks Privateer right in the privates, and half is nowhere near as good. The economy, trading, freedom and story are better than Privateer. But the space combat part is not that good. It's OK, but it's not that good.
I'm checking out the game Dreaded Gazebo mentioned in the comments. So far it looks cool - it's way prettier, for starters.

No. Emphatically No. Capital NO. Big fat NO with a big fat side of NO. I don't do those lame money-pit MMO browser games. I review actual games, made by actual game companies, that you actually play.
And just to head off any possible confusion, I also don't review Flash games you can play at Newgrounds or cheesy garbage by PopCap. If you can play the whole thing for free, just go ahead and play it. Don't ask me to waste my time reviewing stuff that you can play in your browser for free.
For that matter, don't bother to ask me about any of those MMO games. I won't review Everquest, World of Warcraft, Runequest or anything else where you're playing online with a thousand idiot 12-year-olds whose mothers don't know they swear.

If it's free, then you don't need me to review it.
Also, I officially don't like EV Nova. The combat is cool, the trading and upgrades are awesome, the missions are sweet... and the storyline is horrible.

Just reviewed Mad Scientist University, a perfect game for a roomful of drunks. Maybe stoners, too.
